Michigan lifesaving scrapbook, ca. 1898, documenting the life and work of Captain John D. Peterson, who served 38 years as the lighthouse keeper at Thunder Bay Lighthouse on Thunder Bay Island (Mich.). Postcards and unidentified newspaper clippings document the life of Peterson and his wife, as well as local news, other men who worked at lifesaving stations, and the wreck of the Pewabic, a steamship.
